"Puu"

Story

Composed in April 2026 for solo classical guitar, "Puu" (the Finnish word for "tree") was inspired by the dances Yunjia encountered during the spring. Capturing the journey of transition, the piece moves from the confusion, struggle, and unanswered questions into a deeply meditative resolution of love, clarity, and acceptance.

The piece unfolds in two contrasting movements, reflecting an internal transition through style and texture:

• Section A (D minor) moves with a fluid, cinema-like flow, capturing the atmosphere of a cold, grey spring forest. It embodies a period marked by confusion, struggles, and unanswered questions—a process that naturally unfolds.

 

• Section B (C# Major) shifts into a calm, meditative space filled with breath and light. Here, the struggle naturally dissolves, leaving behind only love, peace, and serene delight. The answers arrive on their own, revealing that acceptance itself is the essence of the experience.
