“无”, pronounced as “Wu” with rising tone (Wú), is a Chinese character. The meaning is “none, nothing”. In Chinese philosophy, everything is included in “无” and everything can be generated from “无”.
"Wu" Project is aiming at creating music without the limitation of styles and expressing their thinking without boundaries.. This project is currently taken by Yunjia Liu (刘韫佳), You Yue (幽月), and Yu Liu (刘宇).
Original Title in Chinese: “盛世遗墨绘昔尘”. “盛世” - Flourishing Age; 遗墨 - "Remaining Ink"; "绘" - Paint; "昔尘" - Old Dust. The meaning of the title is: Painting the old dust with the remaining ink of the flourishing age.
Story: “Many insects’ life span is very short. They come and go silently, experiencing the body movement becoming slower and slower. In the end they may find an invisible spot, a piece of branch, a gap between the rocks, or a hole, and leave the world naturally and quietly. This piece of music is trying to express the indescribable “calmness” of mayflies’ lives. They don’t have to worry about finding the meaning of life, and they don’t have to cheat themselves or others, but just accept the nature and life itself, calmly, peacefully, and somehow a bit pitiful.”
